Swift CEO is here. They don’t reward, praise or try to connect with drivers. If you need a new DM they’ll accuse you of being the problem. Falsely. Do it yourself or try to steer away of these immigrant abusers.

Pros

They pay in USD/ direct deposit… idk

Cons

If you don’t live near one of the 5 hubs they’ll route you 300-700 miles away for hometime and you’ll pay the fuel to get back home if you’re not company. Lack of communication, they’re based in Illinois and have entitlement issues. They’ll discharge a trucker before any of their corporate friends. They get $4-5 dollars per load and never pay you over $1.25. The pay isn’t worth the hassle. They invested in Automated Trucks and trying to pressure the O/O’s to quit by being inconsiderate.

When I first started the money was there and the checks cashed. They cared about the drivers. Then they bought JCT, hired new upper management and everything started tanking. Drivers became numbers instead of names. When I left they were 78% seated. When I started they were at 98% seated. 20% decrease in amount of trucks on the road in about 1.5 years. If that don’t tell you anything, I don’t know what will.

Pros

.99 fuel program meant that variable costs were half of what they could have been.

Cons

1.Hometime sucks2.IC’s are just glorified company drivers paying hirschbach bills for them3.Miles are spotty at best so if not company driver, don’t expect much of a paycheck 4. ICs have little to no control of their truck and what they can and can’t do with them. The list goes on.

My opinion is as follows: the 99 cent fuel program is a scam after you factor fsc on miles, fsc is cheaper. Every since they took over jct, jct drivers and office staff have been getting trashed on hirschbach management. They have caused a lot of good talent to leave. I'd never come back.

My final settlement1826 miles$740 detention payNet pay $5.55Everything went to #### after HB took over JCT. I drove for JCT for 4 1/2 years and it broke my heart to quit. They took my KW that I had been paying on for over 4 years and put me in a new Cascadia, I wanted to kill myself the first day I drove it.So a truck with 10k miles on it had a maintenance account $ 2,900 in the negative. Don't work for Hirshbach, they don't care about their drivers.

Pros

Used to be JCT

Cons

Now it's Hirshbach

Hirschbach Lease Purchase from the beginning

I am going to Hirschbach Orientation on Monday November 13, 2015, which is my grandson's first birthday.
I am going to do the lease purchase thing. I am not going that way because I lack the resources to buy a truck, I am doing it because I want to see if a lease purchase through this company is a good thing or not. I am exploring. Those of you who know me, know that I have the business background to succeed but I tend to get fired. I am not a natural truck driver. So, if I can succeed in this venture, anyone can.

First the truck the recruiter talked about is an International Pro Star. Cummings engine. I do not know what year or how many miles it will have on it when I get there. I have an idea of what they are worth based on talking to dealers. Do I want to work for the company for three to five years and end up with a used truck? No. I am interested in making a living now. Not a used truck in the future. So the dangled carrot of a purchase does not tempt me.

Hirschbach is a reefer company. I like reefer work. I enjoy driving at night and reefer work is steady. They go to NYC and I don't mind going there. According to the recruiter, and we all know what kind of faith we can put in recruiters, the target goal is 2250 miles a week. That should make all payments and bring in $1000 pre tax a week. Last reefer company averaged 2900 per week. Hirschbach and my other company have many over lapping costumers, so I figure same miles.

I will post once a week and keep you all informed on how things work out.

Tomorrow, I take a rental car to Orientation. They are to reimburse me. I had the option of a bus ticket but that isn't going to happen ever again.

My time with Hirschbach

Okay like I promised:
Week 1 1,358
Week 2 3,065.11
Week 3. 803.54
Week 4. -392.45 (missed payroll deadline- bills were in the truck while truck was in the shop getting repairs- oops)
Week 5 1,683.16
Week 6. 1,399.70
Week 7. 284.54
Week 8. 817.88
Week 9. 516.84
Week 10. 372.09
Week 11. 2,249.82
Week 12. -779.70 (payroll issues with receiving paperwork)

Average weekly 948.21

Weeks 7,8,9, and 10 I was dealing with family emergency and was in and out of the hospital. Worked just enough to pay for the truck. During week 7, early in the week my fiancé was hospitalized fighting to stop labor at 33 weeks. Week 8, my son was born while the fiancé was at 34 weeks pregnant so that was high stress. Weeks 8 and 9 I ran hard as quick as I could so I could return to the hospital to spend time with my fiancé and son who was in Nicu or however you spell that. Basically intensive care for babies born premature. Week 10- I went back out over the road again with a new DM.

However, I want to thank Hirschbach for allowing me to run a partial week and just enough make the truck payments and getting me back to the hospital for 3 weeks straight. They gave me a load from Indianapolis to New York and deadheaded me back to get me back to the hospital. I don't know how many companies actually would do that.
