Lewistown, Montana Dotty Altenhofen 1939 — 2024 Dorothy "Dotty" Lou Altenhofen, age 84, passed away January 27th, 2024 after a brief battle with cancer. Dotty was born on November 9th, 1939 in Fort Benton, Montana to Clifford and Katherine Scribner. A Memorial Service will be held at Creel Funeral Home in Lewistown, 2:00 p.m., Saturday, February 24th, 2024. Inurnment will be at the Geraldine Cemetery, 2:00 p.m., Sunday, February 25th. Memorial donations in honor of Dotty can be made to the Central Montana Medical Center Cancer Center Project. Arrangements are under the care of Creel Funeral Home. She was born on July 31st, 1933 to parents Alta Idaline (Thomas) and Archie Fredrick Nelson. She was the third of nine children and grew up on the Nelson ranch outside of Moore. In her early years she attended Trout Creek School and then went on to high school in Moore, graduating in 1951. Joyce worked for a few years before she met James "Jim" Turner of Hobson. They were married in Great Falls on September 1, 1953, and moved to the ranch above Utica. In 1956, they moved to the town of Hobson, where they lived for a few years before moving to their ranch just outside of Hobson, where Joyce lived until her death. They...
